Lexie Renouard

Manners, Rally FrEe, Agility

Lexie (she/her) grew up loving animals and helping her grandmother work with and train her champion dogs in obedience and tracking. She started her professional training journey in 2016 in Spokane Washington apprenticing with Diamonds in the Ruff and training service dogs with Canine Companions. Eventually, she moved to Seattle and began teaching with Zoom Room working with a wide variety of complex behavior issues with an enrichment and communication based approach.

Many years and hundreds of dogs later, she believes that the core element to having a good relationship with your animal is co-creating a language and finding the ultimate middle ground of needs for both parties. One of the best ways to do this is through games! If you can find games and activities that you both love, then training will rarely feel like a chore and the relationship you co-create will create a language where anything is teachable. Any breed, any species- you can often find her working with any species she can get her hands on including but not limited to: raptors, reptiles, fish, herptiles, cats, and livestock.

Although she specializes in tricks and enrichment based games, you will findher joyfully engaged in many different activities.

She has a BA in Sociology and Environmental Science and Resource Management, does research on Urban Ecology at the Burke Museum, and takes a special interest in dog structure, conditioning, and safe sport handling.
